Quitting teaching is one thought that frustrated teachers ring into their heads over and over again.
For the nth time they want to do such a thing but somewhere down the line, something is stopping them from doing it.
Looking back, they will only see frustrations and negative things in their classes, proving to be unhealthy not only to them but to their students as well.
There is no easy way to quit teaching.
For one, a very important source of income will be cut since you will end up giving away the job.
But if you really think that quitting teaching is the best answer on your end and the most preferable one, here are some things that you must assess.
Make sure to fully understand the bullets below in order for you to not regret the decision.
#1: Make sure you have your fallback.
I stated earlier that when you decide to leave teaching it only means you are bringing down one major financial resource.
We all know for a fact that you teach in order to be paid.
Thus, before leaving the school, make sure that you have another probable source of income.
It would be very difficult on your end if you decided to do such a thing without a penny in your pocket.
You will only end up going back to teaching just because of financial reasons.
Thus, make sure you have an ample amount of savings, sufficient enough until you get your next job.
Another option here is to have another job ready.
#2: Make sure your tasks are done.
As a teacher and professional, it is important to not leave any responsibilities behind.
As much as possible, give yourself ample time to finish some lessons with your students first before deciding to quit.
It would be difficult on the school's end if you end up not going to class in the middle of the term.
Finding a possible replacement would be an added burden to them.
It is often suggested that when you want to quit teaching, you should do so at the end of the year or semester.
In addition, make sure you have also graded their projects, checked their exams and submitted your grades to assure of no tasks pending on your end.
#3: Make sure to exit gracefully.
Even if you decided not to go back to the school or possibly forget this entire chapter in your life, it is a good trait to not burn bridges.
As much as possible if there were conflicts, settle this with the individuals concerned.
If there are exit interviews to attend, better do it.
Make sure your exit clearance is signed.
If you have debts to a co worker, pay them and not escape the responsibility.
The only thing you can leave to a previous work environment is the people's impression towards you.
At least at the very end what they will remember is something really positive about you.
Leaving any profession is no laughing matter.
Thus, before doing this irreversible act, make sure you have thoroughly evaluated yourself.
Quitting teaching involves many aspects.
