    • 1). Scrape off excess hardened chocolate with a butter knife or another blunt instrument.

    • 2). Dampen a paper towel with rubbing alcohol or dry cleaning solution and moisten the stain.

    • 3). Wet a cleaning rag and squeeze out the excess water. Dab the cleaning rag over the stain, avoid rubbing the stain which will further penetrate the chocolate. Rinse the rag frequently to remove the chocolate.

    • 4). Examine the stain for progress. Make a solution of cold water and 1 or 2 drops of liquid dishwashing detergent and put in a spray bottle if the stain is still embedded in the fabric.

    • 5). Spray the stain with the solution and blot until the stain is removed.

    • 6). Rinse and dab dry with a solution of equal parts cold water and white vinegar; 1/4 cup each should be enough to clean a small area. The solution will remove the soap from the dishwashing detergent.
