How to Find a Business by a P.O. Box
- 1). Check corporate filing records. Go to the Division of Corporations website in the state the business is located in, and research their filing records. Corporation documents should include names of owners and officers, along with a physical address.
- 2). Check local licenses. Contact city hall in the town the company is located in to find out if it obtained a local business license. This should include the company's physical address.
- 3). Contact the consumer protection agency. Your state's consumer protection agency or Better Business Bureau may have complaint information on file for the company you're seeking. Check to see if they have any physical addresses listed.
- 4). Check with the Chamber of Commerce. If the business is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, it will have physical address information for the business.
- 5). Go to the post office. If you are in or near the city where the business is located, it may be worth a trip to the post office. Although postal workers are not allowed to reveal physical addresses for a business, you can see who picks up the mail for the box and speak with that individual.
- 6). Hire a private investigator. If all else fails and you desperately need to locate this business, consider enlisting the services of a private investigator.
