    • 1). Add 1 cup of vinegar to the spray bottle. Use a funnel if you cannot pour straight into the bottle. Pour 1/2 cup of hot water into the spray bottle. Swish the bottle around to mix the cleaning solution.

    • 2). Open the wood burning fireplace door. Soak the window with the cleaning solution. Allow the vinegar and water to penetrate the soot for roughly fifteen minutes. You can complete this step while a fire is going. Be careful of the heat and flames.

    • 3). Wipe the vinegar and water solution off the fireplace window. Rub in rows across the window. If you are cleaning the window during a fire, use several paper towels at once. The window will be hot. Use a clean paper towel when the previous is dirty with soot.

    • 4). Spray inside the wood burning fireplace window with the window cleaner. Wait for three minutes before wiping. Use the soft terry cloth to clean the fireplace window. Wipe downward in rows to remove the entire cleaning solution. The inside window will shimmer.

    • 5). Close the wood burning fireplace door. Mist the window cleaner on the outside. Delay wiping for roughly three minutes. Rub in rows downward with the cloth to remove the cleaner and allow the window to shine.
