How to Clean a Camel Pack
- 1). Remove the reservoir from the pack and empty any remaining water. Fill the reservoir with warm water and a small amount of liquid dish soap.
- 2). Brush the inside of the reservoir gently with the baby bottle brush and dump water out. Brush the lid of the reservoir with soapy water as well.
- 3). Rinse the reservoir with warm water until all traces of soap are gone. Rinse the lid.
- 4). Remove the bite valve by twisting it loose. Thread the pipe cleaner through the drinking tube to gently remove residue or dirt. Rinse thoroughly.
- 5). Hang the reservoir upside down to dry. Leave the lid off the reservoir until completely dry.
- 6). Soak the reservoir and drinking tube overnight in a solution of warm water and 2 tsp. bleach if mild soap isn't effective. Rinse thoroughly to remove all bleach residue.
- 7). Wash the fabric backpack by hand in a sink of warm, soapy water. Soak for 30 minutes if needed, and brush gently to remove stains. Rinse thoroughly with cool water and gently press water out with a towel. Hang to dry.
