    • 1). Reduce the humidity level if possible wherever the skunk sprayed or where objects, people or animals were sprayed. Accomplish this by running a dehumidifier.

    • 2). Ventilate the area. Open windows and doors if the skunk smell is in the air indoors. If outdoors, move objects away from outside walls to increase ventilation where the skunk sprayed.

    • 3). Add 1 qt. of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide to a bucket. Mix in 1 tsp. of detergent and ¼ cup of baking soda. Stir the mixture and pour as much as you can into a spray bottle.

    • 4). Shake the spray bottle to mix it up some more, and spray the surrounding area where the skunk smell is located. Mist straight into the air, as well as objects that will not be damaged by direct contact with hydrogen peroxide. This will help to neutralize the smell of the skunk's spray.

    • 5). Put commercial air fresheners in the area to mask the smell while the other methods help to remove and neutralize the skunk smell.
