There are many treatment options for a person that suffers from anxiety attacks. Some of these treatment options can be simple and some are more complex. Some assistance requires the aid of a physician or psychiatrist that may involve use of prescribed medications. Some triggers for anxiety attacks are not eating right or not drinking enough water. These simple issues are easy to correct. A person who eats too much may have just as much problem as one who does not eat enough. Both behaviors are not good for someone who is anxious.

An overeater can have health issues. These problems can present by way of weight gain, bad cholesterol or high blood pressure. Overeating can cause the person to be tired all the time and make them feel worse about their self image.

When a person does not eat enough food, their body may go into a fight or flight mode. When the body is in this mode, they are more susceptible to anxiety, illness and panic attacks.

Lack of hydration can cause a signal in the body to go into panic mode. Drinking caffeinated beverages all day is not helpful either. Caffeine can trigger an anxiety attack. A good rule of thumb is to drink one half of your body weight each day in water. For example, a 150 pound man should consume approximately seventy five ounces of water per day to be sufficiently hydrated each day.

Reduction of stress is a good way to diminish the amount of anxiety attacks a person may suffer throughout the day. Taking a deep breath and counting to five as you are inhaling, holding the breath and then releasing it slowly is a good way to reduce the likelihood of an anxiety attack. Calming techniques such as that one or possibly meditating and yoga are good sources of relaxation. Practicing relaxing techniques daily is a good way to reduce the everyday stressors that may trigger an attack.

One may stop anxiety attacks with a preemptive strike such as the ones mentioned earlier. Decreasing the attacks to zero is the way to go. Living a healthy lifestyle to include eating right, hydrating enough and reducing stress is the way that one could go to reduce problems that will lead to more anxiety attacks.
