Motorola Q Cell Phone Features
- Motorola released the Motorola Q in 2006. This smart phone offers a variety of features that will help you stay connected while away from the computer. Though the phone lacks features such as Wi-Fi capabilities, the phone offers other features that make it a competitor in the smart phone marketplace of the early 21st century.
- The Motorola Q features a candy bar design, measuring 2.5 inches wide, 4.6 inches high and 0.5 inches deep. The right side of the phone consists of a thumb wheel, which allows you to press and scroll through menu items.
- This smart phone is capable of sending and receiving mobile emails using POP3 and IMAP4. Picture messages (MMS) and text messages (SMS) are also supported by this phone. Internet browsing is also possible. The phone uses EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) technology, a type of mobile broadband. To make typing easier, the Motorola Q is equipped with a QWERTY keyboard. The iTap software included with the phone can also make text messaging easier by predicting words as you enter them.
- The Motorola Q has a resolution of 320 by 240 pixels on a LCD display with 16-bit color. The screen size measures 2.4 inches. The Motorola Q has a 1.3-megapixel camera capable of recording pictures and video.
- This phone includes 64MB of internal memory. You can expand external memory for the phone by adding a miniSD memory card. Though a memory card does not come with this phone, the phone does support miniSD memory cards that you can purchase separately.
- The Motorola Q is a Microsoft Windows Mobile phone. It runs on version 5.0 of the software that's made for smart phones. The Motorola Q also comes with Windows Media Player, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft ActiveSync.
- In addition to Microsoft ActiveSync, which syncs with the computer, the Motorola Q also can connect with other devices via Bluetooth, infrared and mini-USB technology. The phone features Bluetooth 2.0 technology capable of operating with another device as much as 30 feet away. The Motorola Q supports 2.5 mm headphones and headsets. The mini-USB on this phone, however, doesn't support headphones.
- The Motorola Q has an internal lithium ion battery that's capable of supporting 1130 mAh (milliamp hours). Battery life for the Motorola Q supports up to 240 minutes of talk time. Standby time is around 192 hours or eight days.
- Polyphonic ringtones are supported by the Motorola Q. You can also customize your ringtones using real music. Supported formats include WAV, WMA, MPG and MIDI files.
