How to Clean a Steam Table
- 1). Unplug the steam table. Depending on the specific brand and type, unplugging might not be necessary, but most will require unplugging or the removal of the heat source.
- 2). Spray stainless steel cleaner onto the table according to the directions. Cleaners will have varying directions based on the type of cleaner and how diluted the chemicals are.
- 3). Scrub the table with the scouring pad. Avoid the metal pads; instead use the type that is commonly green in color.
- 4). Rinse off the cleaner. Check for dirt and rinse again if necessary.
- 5). Apply a mild soap to a washcloth and add some water. Wipe down all of the non-stainless steel parts. Rinse the entire steam table.
- 6). Dry the table. Water should never sit on a steam table for too long.
