Camping Party Ideas for Girls

    Outback Exploration

    • Many girls will appreciate the opportunity to explore in an outback camping party. Hire a guide or go to a camp with an experienced hiker who can show you secluded trails, meadows and mountain peaks beyond the reach of campers who stay on frequently traveled paths or within the parameters of commercial campsites. For example, the experience will be enriched by exploring a local state park, especially if you request suggestions for obscure outback-camping spots at the visitor’s center. The girls will feel self-sufficient and rugged if you all carry your own tents, bedding and water -- as well as party food such as hot dogs -- in backpacks on your exploration. Just don’t forget the bear-bags to stash your food high in trees at night. Check with local regulations before camping in the outback and especially before lighting campfires.

    Car Camping

    • All attendees will enjoy a low-key camping party in which you visit a local campsite via car. The young ladies will be excited to load their favorite snacks, along with hot dogs and supplies for s’mores. Everyone can bring sleeping bags and tents, as well as comfortable mats to make overnighting in the open even more enjoyable. The proximity of your car will enhance the festive mood of the camping party, since you can turn up the volume and play music while you set up camp and eat dinner. If your camping party is in recognition of a birthday, campers will be eager to bring gifts in the car and give them to the guest of honor around a cozy campfire. To enhance the festivities, provide campers with useful party favors such as travel toothbrushes and mini flashlights.

    Wildlife Sighting

    • A wildlife sighting adventure will make a memorable party game on your camping trip. Both the hostess and her friends can view wildlife using disposable cameras as they embark on adult-supervised expeditions into meadows and woods to look for birds, butterflies, deer and other wild creatures. Animal-themed party hats and animal plates for serving roasted hot dogs and marshmallows will enhance the festive mood. As the sun sets, the girls can enjoy sitting around the fire and playing wild animal charades, taking turns acting out their favorite creatures. As it grows darker, they can imitate animal sounds and tell stories about encounters with wild animals to entertain one another.

    Outdoor Scavenger Hunt

    • A scavenger hunt adds an element of excitement and competition to any event. This traditional party game takes a wild twist when executed in the outdoors. The girls can search eagerly for hidden camping equipment such as flashlights, bug repellent and a bag of marshmallows in the vicinity of the campsite as you lodge items in the knots of trees, behind bushes or on top of rock piles. If you wish to get creative, make arrows out of pebbles to direct campers towards the objects they are seeking. The campers will be excited to find hidden bags of party favors amongst the camping essentials. The first team to find all of the hidden items gets the first round of s’mores.
