How to Prevent Rust on Table Saws
- 1). Store the table saw in a dry place, such as a large desk drawer. Moisture is one of the biggest factors in causing rust on metal tools.
- 2). Spray the table saw occasionally with the silica spray. The chemicals in the spray help prevent rust from forming.
- 3). Spray a lubricant on a table saw that has begun to rust slightly, then scrub the saw well with a coarse scrub pad. Wipe away extra liquid with the cloth.
- 4). Apply an acid-based rust remover to table saws that have large amounts of rust on them.
