Baby has many needs at their very young age. Because your baby largely depends on you, as a parent, attending to those needs should be taken care of. Secondary to the biological needs of your baby –food, water, air, sleep, and rest – safety and security should also be provided and be considered very important. Although safety and security is just next to the biological needs, sometimes, safety and security needs should be given a keener attention than the biological. This does not apply at all the times though, however, there are certain situations that you are required to focus on first.

Every time you hear your baby cry, you immediately responds to him because it may mean that he is hungry. So you give him a bottle of milk instantly to calm him. This is the most common communication of the baby to tell his parents or nanny that he needs to be fed and usually this is the response to his weeping. But not all the time crying means hunger. At times it can convey that there is something wrong with him. Maybe he is hurt or there is something painful but he just can not tell you so. That is why, as a mother, father, or as a nanny who is taking care of the baby, you must be sensitive or skillful enough to know if there is anything going on that is not right so that an appropriate solution will be applied right away or any further complications will be prevented.

In building a nursery room for your baby, make sure that you have planned it very carefully. The size, paint, furniture, toys, bedding, bottles, and decorations should be chosen carefully to ensure safety to your baby. The size of the nursery room should be wide as much as possible to allow you to move more comfortably inside while doing stuff with your baby. The paint must also be given attention, not basically the color, but the harmful chemicals in it that can put your baby's respiratory health at stake when diffused in the air and inhaled. The furniture, most especially the crib, must be free from any sharp and pointed objects to prevent cuts or any accident it can cause. The edges should be smooth to allow extra comfort for you and your baby. The bedding are also very important to be checked before laying you baby on because it where your baby's skin is directly confined on to it. Although it can seldom happen, it is still essential that you check the bedding for needles and pins that might have been left from the factory. When placing toys around the crib, see to it that the buttons or the eyes of the dolls are intact as it may choke your baby when swallowed. The nipples and the bottles used when feeding your baby must be clean. It is important that they are sterilized before using to prevent any harmful bacteria that may cause disease. And of course, the decorations that you would like to add must be properly placed or hanged on the wall.

Not only biological things are needed by your baby to achieve optimum health and wellness in his life but also safety and security. There are other things that your baby needs to achieve as he grows up. So to step on the highest level of his dreams in the future, give him only the best care that only you can offer. By providing him sound nursery room with harmless decors, he can have the amount of time needed for rest. Only healthy foods, safe clothes, blankets, and toys should be given. Because the way you care for him is the symbol of your love can never be measured by anyone else.
