Locksmithing - A Worthy Career?
The other day I was researching various careers and stumbled upon the field of locksmithing.
Well, to be truthful I locked my keys in the car, had to call a locksmith, and then paid 70 dollars for what only took the guy ten seconds.
That seems like quite a large sum of money for such a quick, easy task.
So I compiled a list of pros and cons about the field of locksmithing.
The advantages of this career are quite attractive and compelling.
I'm not totally sure about the course requirements for the job are, but I'm sure that it involves learning the types of locks in many makes and models of a lot of cars.
Think about it - you are going to encounter a wide variety of makes and models out on the job.
The money seems to be good for this job.
Like I said earlier, it took the locksmith that came to my house about fifteen seconds to unlock my car and it cost me around 70 bucks.
If you could stay busy, then the money would probably add up to be a decent income.
This brings me to the next advantage, people are always going to lose their keys or lock them in the car.
So besides the competing with the other locksmith companies out there, it seems as if you would stay busy.
One of the cons that I thought of was that you would have to think about the cost of gas.
Yea - they make a lot of money from the job, but gas is very expensive these days.
This throws up a red flag in my mind.
The other disadvantage would be that with technology increasing at such a rapid rate, will locksmith's always be needed? You would think that eventually there will ways that locksmiths wouldn't be needed.
