How-to: Sink-mounted Cutting Boards
- 1). Place the cutting board over the sink basin so both sides are supported. For single-basin sinks, the board will be supported by the outer edges of the basin. For double-basin sinks, the board is supported by the dividing wall on one side and the basin edge on the other. Extend the metal arms if your sink is wider than the width of the cutting board. Not all boards have arms.
- 2). Place the food you wish to cut on the board.
- 3). Chop, cut or slice the food as desired.
- 4). Discard the pieces you will not use in the built-in basket or directly in the sink's garbage disposal if no basket is available. Conversely, use a built-in colander for the pieces of food you wish to rinse and leave the waste pieces on the board.
- 1). Set the cutting board on the countertop next to the sink.
- 2). Orient the board so the longer side extends over the sink basin. On some boards, this is the side with the built-in basket or colander.
- 3). Place your food on the cutting board and proceed as described in the Section 1.
