Tour of the Oceania Marina Cabins and Suites

Overview

The 1250-passenger Marina of Oceania Cruises has 625 cabins and suites, with four different cabin categories and four different suite categories. The Marina accommodations are found on decks 6 through 12.

All of the Marina cabins are generous in size, and the suites are as large as some apartments! The cabins range in size from the 174-square-foot interior cabins to the 282-square-foot veranda cabins and concierge veranda cabins.

The suites range in size from the large 420-square-foot penthouse suites to the humongous 2000-square-foot owner's suites.

The decor of the cabins and suites is elegant and livable. Even the lowest category interior cabins have amenities usually only found on luxury ships such as a refrigerated mini-bar with free and unlimited soft drinks and bottled water, which is replenished daily, and luxurious Tranquility beds and linens.

Marina Suites

Marina Inside Cabins

Almost all of the Marina cabins are either oceanview or have a balcony. There are only 14 inside cabins (with no porthole, window, or balcony), which can be a good value for those who are willing to trade a view or a balcony for a less-expensive accommodation. Two of the inside cabins are larger than the others and are handicap accessible.

The comfortable 174-square-foot inside cabins have many of the same furnishings and amenities found in the larger oceanview or veranda cabins.

Highlights include a large marble and granite bathroom with shower door rather than a curtain, a refrigerated mini-bar, vanity desk, breakfast table, and a choice of a queen-size or two twin beds.

The 20 Marina deluxe oceanview cabins measure 242-square-feet and have large floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows. These cabins have more inside floor space than the standard veranda and concierge veranda cabins, but are missing the balcony/veranda. The Marina oceanview cabins feature queen or twin bed accommodations, a spacious seating area, vanity desk, breakfast table, and marble and granite-clad bathroom.

Unlike the inside cabins, all of the oceanview and veranda cabins and all of the suites have a separate tub and shower.

Marina Concierge Level Veranda Cabins

The 200 Concierge Level veranda cabins on the Oceania Cruises' Marina are the same size and layout as the standard veranda cabins. However, these 282-square-foot cabins have additional amenities, including many of same ones found in the Marina Penthouse Suites, such as a private furnished veranda, LCD flat-screen television, a wireless laptop computer, plush seating area, and an large marble and granite bathroom with tub and separate shower.

In addition, Concierge Level guests enjoy access to their own exclusive Concierge Lounge staffed by a dedicated Concierge along with priority restaurant reservations at Polo Grill, Toscana, Jacques and Red Ginger.

I stayed in a Concierge Level veranda cabin on a three-night preview cruise and loved the special amenities and having easy access to the Concierge lounge. The bathroom is particularly large, and a separate tub and shower (with door rather than curtain) is safer for older guests (and even younger ones) who don't like to crawl in and out of a tub. The shower was a little small, but having both a "rain" shower head and a hand-held one make up for the somewhat small size. The bathroom also has good storage. The only thing missing in the bathroom is a lighted magnifying mirror.

The "Tranquility" beds were absolutely heavenly and the cabin has a clean look, with its drawers hidden behind cabinet doors.
