A reasonable diet must offer your body all the energy it needs in order to function properly. This means that your every day diet must include all food types, in fair amounts, according to your age, height and weight and physical condition. Foods can be divided into seven groups in accordance with the role they play in your nourishment and the daily quantities of each type of food have been approximated.

 1st Group: Milk and milk-based foods
They are primary sources of proteins, with high nutritive value and an important source of calcium: 125 mg/100 ml of milk, 922 mg/100 g of cheese. They are also rich in vitamin A and vitamin B2.

Milk is the only animal product that helps your body maintains good acidobasic equilibrium. Including milk in your daily diet will offer good results; while consuming exaggerate amounts of milk in order to compensate for the lack of other foods will be beneficial to your health only to the extent that milk can correct certain deficiencies in your meals.

 2nd Group: Meat, meat-based products and fish
They are the most important source of proteins with high nutritive value and vitamins such as: PP, B2, B6, B12 and iron.

Despite their numerous qualities, meat and meat-based products should not be consumed alone and in large quantities: they are poor in calcium, glucides, vitamin A and they act like acids. In a healthy diet, these foods must be served together with vegetables, milk-based products and fruit.

A healthy adult needs around 200-250 grams of meat per day.

 3rd Group: Eggs
Eggs have a high nutritive value and are rich in proteins and vitamins A, D, B2, B6, iron and phosphorus; they have a very low content of vitamin PP and no vitamin C. They also have a very high level of lecithin and cholesterol, a reason why they shouldn't be consumed in large amounts.

One egg has over 6 grams of proteins and 212 mg of cholesterol. The daily quantity of cholesterol a person should eat is around 300 mg. If you eat more than 1 egg per day, you should replace other high cholesterol foods with oat, salmon, tune fish, walnuts, low-fat milk-based products, green vegetables, fruits, whole meal cereals and other low cholesterol foods.

It is recommended for adults to eat 4-5 eggs a week and no more than 1 egg per day. Older people shouldn't eat more than 1-2 eggs a week.
