How to Keep Ants Out of the Shed
- 1). Repair any broken or leaking plumbing in your shed. Water attracts ants and makes it almost impossible to keep them out.
- 2). Keep any food or food trash kept in your shed in closed containers. This includes pet food.
- 3). Seal around windows, doors, and any openings to the outside. The best remedy for ants is to keep them from entering your shed the first time.
- 4). Apply a barrier of dried mint across doorways and window sills. Ants won't cross this line. The scent repels them and masks the scent of any food they otherwise might be attracted to in your shed.
- 5). Wash away any ant trails. Use soap and water. If you remove the ants but leave their trail, they will come back.
