    • 1). Place the wooden stick horizontally on a work surface. Measure two inches in from the upper left corner. Make a dot at the two inch mark with a pencil. Measure four inches across from the dot made. Make another dot. Repeat this two more times.

    • 2). Repeat this entire procedure, only starting from the lower left corner of the wooden stick.

    • 3). Place a metal washer over each dot. Partially screw a metal screw into each of the dots using a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 4). Place the jaws of a pliers around the middle of one of the metal rods. Bend the ends of the rod down at a 45-degree angle. Repeat this with every rod.

    • 5). Place the bend of a rod around each of the screws; the two ends of the rods on the screws farthest from you should be pointing away from you, while the two ends of the rods on the screws closest to you face you.

    • 6). Wrap the end of one of the two wires around the topmost left screw. Wind the wire down to and around the second-most screw on the bottom, counting from the left. Wind the wire up to and around the third-most screw on the top from the left. Wind the wire down to and around the rightmost screw on the bottom.

    • 7). Repeat this procedure with the other wire, only starting at the bottom-most left screw and ending up at the rightmost screw on the top.

    • 8). Place a strip of electrical tape around the wires where they cross each other. Screw the screws all the way into the wood with the Phillips screwdriver.

    • 9). Wrap one of the two already-stripped ends of the wire attached to the Balun transformer adapter around one of the wires running down the length of the wooden stick. Wrap the other already stripped end of the wire attached to the Balun to the other wire running down the length of the stick. Heat up the soldering iron for five minutes.

Place one of the two ends of the UHF antenna against one of the wires from the Balun where it is wrapped around the wire running down the length of the wooden stick. Solder the end of the UHF antenna to the wires. Let the solder cool for a minute. Place the other end of the UHF antenna against the other wire from the Balun. Solder the end of the UHF antenna to the wires. Let the solder cool for a minute.

Screw an end of a coaxial cable into the coax socket on the Balun. Stand the wooden stick up against an outside wall of the house. Run the coaxial cable into the house, along the baseboard of the wall until you reach a TV. Screw the free end of the coaxial cable into the "Ant in" coax connection on the back of the TV.
