A Monster or an Angel - Which Child Do You Prefer?
It is important that parents instill Christian moral values for children while they are still young.
Children should be taught to understand the difference between what is right and what is wrong.
Every opportunity should be sought to develop a child's character so that it exemplifies the life of Jesus Christ.
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
" Proverbs 22:6 Every parent knows the world can be a really tough place, and if we leave it up to the world to teach our children their worldly values- we are in big trouble.
Teaching good Christian moral values for children will better prepare them to face the challenges that are present in a troubled world.
Therefore, it is important for parents to remind children of the fact- that they are different because Christ has called them out of the world.
As a result, children should learn to conduct their lives in a manner that is pleasing to God, yet, it is entirely up to the parent to make sure of this.
Some of the ways parents can begin to develop good Christian moral values in their children include: • Spending family time engaged in activities which have a Christian focus, such as prayer and Bible study.
• Reading Christian fiction books for kids- for example, a book with a fictitious character who happens to be a bully can really help children see why it's important for us to love our neighbor, and not bully other children.
• Attending Sunday school.
• Censoring what children listen to on the radio and watch on television.
• Being selective of your children's friends- you want to make sure they are not hanging around children who are constantly swearing, you obviously don't want them to pick up any of their bad behaviors.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
"Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise), "that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.
" Ephesians 6:1-3 If parents let their children just do what they want when they want, the child will grow up thinking that they don't need to follow any rules at all and deny any authority over them.
Much of this evidence is happening today where young people just don't care what is right or wrong and their level of respect is very low and far from being considerate unfortunately.
Some children that didn't have strict Christian upbringing might possibly end up ruining their lives with theft, drugs, lying, and many more damaging things that literally can destroy themselves and their family.
Good Christian morals for children should help instill in them how they need to react with temptation or peer pressure.
When they know how to react with Christian values they will be making way for the peace of God to be present in their life and the life of their family.
