Breakfast in Bed

• A breakfast in bed gift basket will be perfect for that first morning after returning from the honeymoon. The newlyweds won't want the luxurious vacation to end and your wedding gift will help them to make the transition back to "real life." Choose a white wicker basket lined with lace fabric or a table cloth. A bottle of champagne with two stemmed flutes is a good start for the contents. A non-alcoholic option is coffee beans in a cellophane bag, tied with a pretty ribbon and a coffee bean grinder. Add a couple of hand thrown pottery mugs. Include two cloth napkins, and a bud vase with silk flower. Choose between a gourmet pancake or waffle mix and fruit syrups or biscotti cookies to go with the coffee.
  
  

Edibles

• Do the newly weds love Mexican food? Line a wooden crate with serape-type fabric. Include tortilla chips and several kinds of salsa. Add the makings for Margaritas, stemmed glasses, coarse salt and a CD of Latin mood music. Complete the wedding gift with a Mexican cookbook and a couple of brightly colored pot holders.
  
  An Italian wedding gift basket can be filled with pasta, prepared tomato sauce and gourmet oil and vinegar. Include canned antipasto food items, such as artichoke hearts, roasted peppers and sun dried tomatoes. Don't forget the bread sticks and a bottle of red wine. Place them in a stainless steal colander or large pasta pot or bowl for the container.
  
  A bean soup gift basket can be saved for a cozy winter weekend together. Purchase a couple of dry mixed bean soup packages, but repackage them in a clear cellophane bag, tied with a ribbon at the top. Rewrite the bean soup recipe on your computer and print it out on colored paper. Create a scrapbook-style page on card stock with the recipe as the focal point. Add a box of hot roll mix or corn bread mix, fancy crackers and a couple of pretty cloth napkins. Place it all in a beautiful soup tureen with matching ladle.
  
  

Movie Night

• Purchase a plain, 1 gallon tin can (see resources). Decorate the outside with old movie pictures, printed off your computer (make sure there are no copyright stipulations). Decoupage them to the outside of the can. Include microwave popcorn, movie-type candy bars ad a couple of movie DVDs. Don't forget some brightly colored paper napkins and the wedding couple's favorite soft drinks.
