    Outerwear

    • The following outerwear items are listed on the Fort Riley packing list: One patrol cap, one beret, one fleece or Gortex jacket, one pair of knee and elbow pads, a helmet, Kevlar with a camouflage band, sweatband and cover, one wet weather or Gortex parka and one pair of eye protection (goggles). Also listed on the packing list are intercepted body armor (IBA) or improved outer tactical vest (IOTV), one extra large rucksack and a camel backpack.

    Attire

    • Attire included on the packing list include three army combat uniforms (ACUs), one pair of wet weather or Gortex trousers and one improved physical fitness uniform (IPFU). Items to be packed for the feet are one pair of combat boots, as long as they are not tanker boots, and a pair of cold-weather boots.

    Gear

    • Gear listed on the packing list includes a modular sleep system or sleeping bag, one pair of ear plugs with a case, one assault pack, two canteens with cups and covers, one modular lightweight load carrying system (MOLLE system) and a waterproof bag. Items in the weaponry area that should be packed are the individual assigned weapon with sling, seven 30 round, 5.56mm rifle magazines, one blank firing adapter (BFA) and a weapons cleaning kit.

    Miscellaneous

    • Miscellaneous items that should be packed per the Fort Riley pre-arrival packing list include four meals ready to eat (MREs) and one improved first aid kit (IFAC), one insect repellant, one sunscreen, one meal card if one has been issued, one identification card, one set of identification tags, one black ballpoint pen, two #2 pencils, one notepad, one padlock and personal hygiene items.
