Cannot Open Craigslist
- If Craigslist doesn't load on your computer, the most common cause is that a problem exists within your Internet connection. Because Craigslist uses a basic text-and-image interface, it is likely that the Internet connection is completely non-functional, rather than simply being slow. To test whether this is the case, attempt to load any other website win your Web browser. If it isn't possible to load any websites, restart your Internet connection or if that doesn't work, contact your Internet service provider.
- Alternatively, Craigslist itself may be experiencing technical difficulties that prevent the site from loading. To see whether a site problem causes Craigslist not to open, visit a utility such as "Down For Everyone Or Just Me?" or "Website Server Checker," both of which are designed to tell you whether a particular website is down for everyone or just you.
- If the Craigslist site loads but not to the location you want, you may need to manually navigate to the Craigslist site you want to see. Craigslist operates different sites for different U.S. states and international cities, and automatically redirects you to the site that corresponds to your IP address. If you are in New York and need to access the Atlanta Craigslist, for example, choose "U.S. Cities" from the right navigation menu, then select "Atlanta" to view the Atlanta Craigslist.
- In other instances, you may simply be unable to access a specific posting. If you can't find the posting within the category or sub-category in which you originally found it, it may have been deleted. The only way to confirm this is to visit the direct URL of the posting. If the post no longer exists on Craigslist, the site displays an error indicating such.
