How to Troubleshoot a Schlage Lock

    • 1). Delete all the four-digit user codes and re-enter them if you've forgotten any of them. Press the six-digit personal code that's printed on the yellow sticker that came with the lock, then press the "Schlage" button. Press the number 6 button and enter the six-digit personal code again. All the four-digit user codes are now deleted.

    • 2). Add a new four-digit user code. Enter the six-digit personal code from the yellow sticker. Press the "Schlage" button and then press the number 1 button. Enter the new four-digit user code twice in a row. Give the new four-digit user code to the individual who should have access with the code.

    • 3). Repeat adding more codes.

    • 4). Delete unwanted user codes or user codes for individuals you no longer want to have access. Press the six-digit personal code again. Press the "Schlage" button. Press the number 2 button, then the unwanted user code twice consecutively.

    • 5). Replace the battery if the lock doesn't perform as expected.

    • 6). Restore all the factory settings if the lock still isn't working properly. Remove the battery and press the "Schlage" button. Replace the battery and hold the "Schlage" button.
