Nervous Dog Coffee Bar & Roaster is located in West Akron's trendy Wallhaven neighborhood. The atmosphere is very friendly and inviting with seating at the bar, booths, or tables. Rich browns, reds, and leather set the tone for a relaxed setting. During warmer months, patio seating is available.

Expect to find individuals reading, surfing the web, holding a meeting, or playing a board game during the week. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays there is usually free, live entertainment from local artists.

The baristas greet regular customers by name at the Nervous Dog Coffee Bar & Roaster, which is owned and operated by the local Akronite, Michael Litt who took over the struggling Cocos in 2005.

Local art, jewelry, books, cds, and gifts are available for purchase at Nervous Dog.

The smell of fresh coffee fills the air. Nervous Dog is the only establishment in Akron that roasts its own coffee. Choose from fresh-roasted coffee, cappuccino, espresso, hot cocoa, all natural smoothies, and Italian sodas. The baristas may suggest their latest custom blends to try. The pastries, truffles, cookies, scones, and cake by the slice are sinfully delicious. Delectable sandwiches are also available.

I enjoyed a cup of French roast coffee. Not only was it the freshest cup of coffee I've had in a long time, but the flavor was rich and smooth. The desserts all looked and smell amazing; I ordered a huge slice of German chocolate cake and enjoyed every scrumptious, deliciously moist bite. The free WiFi was convenient with plugs at every table. It is a great place to relax.
