A Single Hard Hitting Strength Exercise For Triathletes!

If you are a triathlete then I don't have to sit here and tell you how physically demanding your sport is.
However, it amazes me how so many triathletes and other endurance athletes don't invest the time in a smart and effective strength training program.
Strength is the basic characteristic to perform any task, and endurance racing falls under this category too! Read on if I have your attention.
Kettlbell Swings For Triathletes! Kettlebell swings are a tremendous strength endurance related lift that is highly effective in improving the performance of ALL athletes.
Whether you are developing a hard tough body or in need of having the cardiovascular fitness to push yourself for that last mile kettlebell swings will get you there.
This lift is the foundation of most all kettlebell strength lifts.
In order to perform kettlebell swings you will need the availability of at least a single bell of moderate resistance.
Place the bell on the ground between your feet with your stance slightly wider than shoulder width.
From here pick the bell up and lock out your hips and knees.
Allow the bell to hang at your groin before allowing it to swing back between your legs and up to chest level from the forceful flexion and extension of your hips and knees.
As you start to perform the "hip snap" motion with assistance from you hips and knees then allow the bell to build momentum in order to swing up to at least chest level to start.
Now kettlebell swings are highly effective for training many of your muscles for manipulating movement patterns which are significant to the sport of running triathlons.
Secondly, kettlebell swings can be varied in many ways to help you achieve the highest level of performance.
Swings can be performed with just a single bell and both arms, a bell in each arm, or with a single bell and one arm.
Other variations can be made to this drill by manipulating the amount of weight being lifted, the range of motion at which you lift it, and whether or not you use one or two bells in the process.
This is resistance training at it's best for triathlon athletes.
