- Telemachus - Son of Odysseus who was left as a baby when Odysseus went off 20 years earlier to fight in the Trojan War.
- Penelope - the faithful wife of Odysseus who has been keeping the suitors at bay.
- Calypso - A daughter of Atlas who lives in Ogyia and offered a home and immortality to Odysseus when he was shipwrecked.
- Leucothoea - Leucothoea was once the mortal Ino, daughter of Cadmus and Harmonia, but she threw herself into the sea and became the immortal sea creature Leucothoea. She helps Odysseus in Odyssey Book V.
- Phaeacia - (Place.) Also known as Scheria. It may be Corcyra. Odysseus sails a raft and then swims to Phaeacia in Odyssey Book V.
