    • 1). Look for a honeydew melon with a creamy white color and yellow accents. The peal should appear waxy.

    • 2). Smell the honeydew melon. A ripe melon has a fragrant melon scent.

    • 3). Touch the blossom end of the fruit; it should be slightly soft.

    • 4). Cut the honeydew melon from the vine using the shears. Don't attempt to pull it from the vine.
