• PlayStation 3 consoles feature IBM's Cell Broadband Engine as their central processing unit. (This CPU operates at 3.2 GHz with greater than 200 billion floating point operations per second. The processor has 241 million transistors, 10 threads and nine cores. Maximum bandwidth for the Cell Broadband Engine is 75 gbps and the maximum memory bandwidth is 25 gbps. The graphics processing unit for the PlayStation 3 is NVIDIA's RSX reality synthesizer. This GPU operates at 550 MHz with a video memory speed of 700 MHz.
