One thing women battle every single day is their weight.
One day your pants are so tight you feel like you can not breathe and then the next day those same pants feel like they will fall down without a belt.
When you become pregnant you know you have to eat more and better than normal in order to grow a healthy baby but sometimes that can drive you crazy.
The thought of gaining weight that you may not be able to get off or at least not easily, terrifies you.
Well, rest assured that it is the best thing for you and your baby and it will eventually fall off with exercise and a healthy diet.
Check your Body Mass Index (BMI) and see whether your current weight and height classify you as underweight, normal weight or overweight.
This is the breakdown of weight that you should gain based on your weight status.
If you are underweight you should gain between 28-40 pounds.
If a normal weight 25-35 pounds, overweight should be 15-25 and if you are carrying twins you should gain 35-45 pounds.
Do what is best for you and your baby and put the issue of weight aside.
When you gain weight not all of it goes to your rear end and hips, but some to your baby of course.
A typical breakdown of a normal-weight woman is as follows.
  • Baby weighs approximately 7.
    5 pounds
  • Your breasts normally weigh 2 pounds
  • You have stores of fat, protein etc that equals around 7 pounds
  • The placenta is 1.
    5 pounds
  • Your uterus is 2 pounds
  • The amniotic fluid is 2 pounds
  • Blood is 4 pounds and the excess body fluids weigh approximately 4 pounds.
Eat right and exercise with the permission of your doctor and everything will turn out well in the end for everyone.
