- Firefly Mobile offers a couple of phone options designed specifically for children, such as the Fly Phone and the Glow Phone. These phones lack a standard keypad; instead, there are two buttons on the front parents can program for their cellphone numbers, and an emergency button. Parents can enter up to 50 numbers their child is allowed to call. Parents may also limit the numbers the phone can receive calls from.

Parents can program up to 20 acceptable phone numbers into the phone. What sets this phone apart is the fact that it serves as a GPS locator -- log onto the Wheriphone website to see a map of your child's location.

This very basic phone lacks a traditional keypad. Although these phones offer standard keypads and look like more traditional cellphones, Kajeet offers many parental-control options. Parents can control items such as downloads, a list of appropriate contacts who can call or be called by the phone and the time of day their child can use the phone. Also a GPS locator, a Kajeet phone uses the Sprint network.
