    • 1). Complete Part I of Schedule C-EZ by filling in your business information, including what type of work you do and your business name and address.

    • 2). Report the total income from your business on line 1 of Part II.

    • 3). Report the total expenses you have from running your business on line 2 of Part II.

    • 4). Calculate your taxable income by subtracting your expenses from your income and reporting the total taxable amount on line 3. If you are not claiming any expenses from the use of your vehicle, you are finished.

    • 5). Report in Part III your vehicle information if any of the expenses that you are claiming are from the use of your car. You will need to state when you started using the car for business purposes; the total number of miles you drove for business, commuting and other purposes; whether you used the vehicle for personal use during non-business hours; whether you have another vehicle for personal use; and whether you have written evidence to support your expenses.
