How to Care for an Electric Wok

    • 1). Turn the wok off and unplug it prior to cleaning to eliminate the risk of electric shock. Allow it to cool.

    • 2). Avoid dropping, submerging or otherwise damaging the temperature control probe that many electric woks use. The temperature control detaches from many electric wok models and should never be in contact with water.

    • 3). Leave the wok uncovered when cooking with oil. Steam will cause water to accumulate on the cover and if water droplets fall into the hot cooking oil, splattering will result that could result in burns.

    • 4). Wash the wok and cover after each use with warm water and mild dish detergent. The detergent is an effective degreaser that helps remove the oil buildup after cooking. Dry the wok thoroughly before putting it away.

    • 5). Store the wok in a place where it will not fall or get scratched.
