How to Remove Bufo Toads
- 1). Keep an eye out for the bufo toad. You are most likely to find them during the spring after it rains because they are looking for mates.
- 2). Wear protective gloves, goggles, mask and clothing. The toad's poison irritates skin and eyes when contacted.
- 3). Squeeze a 1-inch line of benzocaine ointment on the neck and back of the toad.
- 4). Let the toad absorb the ointment through its skin for 20 minutes. The toad will be temporarily paralyzed.
- 5). Pick up the frog and put it in a plastic bag. Seal the bag and place it in the freezer for three days. The toad is not conscious and does not feel pain.
- 6). Remove the bag from the freezer and discard the bag in the garbage can.
