    Old Standbys

    • Tried-and-true Halloween window decorations are still as fun today as they were when you were a child. Stretch spider webs across your window to provide just the right touch. Include a few plastic spiders, or attach bug rings to random places on the web. These children's rings usually have gaps to make room for a variety of finger sizes, so they clip onto material easily. Another traditional Halloween window decoration idea can involve the entire family. Enlist the help of your children to cut ghosts, bats, witch hats and pumpkins from construction paper.

    Around the House

    • Spice up your window for Halloween with scarves you may already have in your closet. Drape black and orange silk scarves over the top of your curtains or blinds to add holiday color. Pull your costume jewelry from your drawer and dangle black and gold beads between the scarves to add just the right amount of glam to your Halloween windows. Affix strings of holiday lights to the edges of your windows, highlighting your spooky decor.

    Intricate Scenery

    • Use stencils to trace various sizes of haunted houses onto black cardstock. Next, trace stencils of black cats and witches riding brooms. Carefully cut these pieces along the edges of the stencil using craft scissors and an X-acto knife. Cut yellow paper to fit the window openings in your haunted house. You can also use the yellow paper in the spaces for your cat eyes for a scary effect. Spray your window with adhesive from a local craft store and then attach your spooky scene to the center. Remove the clings easily after Halloween, and wash away the adhesive with a simple mixture of vinegar and water.
