Don"t Let Insomnia Ruin Your Life - A Natural Cure For Your Sleepless Nights

For some people sleeping through the night is a dream rather than a reality.
If you suffer from persistent insomnia then you need to take action before it takes a serious toll on your health.
Irritability, weariness and constant fatigue are all after effects that you can avoid by taking just two simple steps.
These are examining your daily routine and understanding that sleep deprivation is often caused by anxiety and stress.
1.
Examine your daily routines
Grab a pen and a piece of paper and write down everything about your day.
How many cups of tea or coffee did you drink? Did you eat lots of foods that are high in caffeine or sugar? For most people cutting down on caffeine will be the only step you need to take to beat your insomnia.
Another reason for your sleepless nights might be due to lack of exercise.
Do you have an office job where you sit at a desk all day? If you don't use up all of your energy during the day your body will remain alert and active at night when you want to sleep.
Try adding in some sort of exercise or physical activity early on in the day; leave it too late and you'll be too energised to fall asleep! If you can't fit a formal exercise routine into your day just try and be more active.
Take a walk around the block at lunch time and use the stairs instead of the lift.
As your activity level increases you should find that you are more able to sleep through the night.
2.
Stress and anxiety may be the culprit
Not all sleep deprivation is caused by physical reasons like poor diet or insufficient exercise.
Stress and anxiety can also manifest themselves as insomnia.
If you think your sleeplessness is due to stress you can learn some simple meditation techniques to help calm your mind and in turn make it easier to sleep.
Most people will find that they can cure their insomnia simply by following these steps and making small changes in their lives by adjusting their diet, their exercise routine or learning some meditation techniques.
If you try these things and don't see any results then it is time to speak to your doctor.
Insomnia should not be taken lightly as over an extended period it can have serious health implications.
