When choosing table linens, remember that what may look good on one table may not look good on 20 tables sitting side by side. • Lighting is one aspect of wedding reception decor that is at times overlooked, but can be an essential element to setting the mood and feeling of your wedding reception. The amount of lighting you will need truly depends on the reception location. There are a number of professional lighting companies you can contact to do specialized lighting at your event, if the options provided by the venue do not seem satisfactory.
  
  You can also use candles as lighting, which is especially effective in evening weddings. Candles can be hung from the ceiling, placed on tables and serving areas, in flower arrangements, or as centerpieces. You can display candles individually or put them in decorative votives or vases that match your color scheme.
  
  

Miscellaneous

• Other decorations can be added to your wedding reception decor to make the event extra special. Draped fabric can be used to decorate bland or blank-looking rooms or reception halls. Many decoration companies offer special material you can rent for these occasions. Fabric can be draped from the walls, or the ceiling for a dramatic look.
  
  Photographs can also be used as decor around the reception hall, and this is a great time to use unseen engagement photos. Additionally, any other element to the wedding reception can serve as decor, such as menu cards, favors and seating cards. All of these things can be infused with wedding themes, patterns and colors to add a little extra decor.
