Halloween Snack Ideas for Teenagers

    Bleeding Popcorn

    • Make several bags of popcorn for the teens. When they ask for butter, enjoy the horrified looks on their faces as they watch you drizzle "blood" over their snack. To achieve this gory effect, simply add red food coloring to the melted butter before serving.

    Boogers on a Stick

    • Serve the teens a snack that is sure to turn even those iron stomachs. Melt cheese in the microwave and allow it to cool slightly. Add a generous amount of green food coloring. Dip the ends of pretzels and bread sticks into the cheese and display it on a platter. The taste is great if they can get past the less-than-appetizing appearance.

    Pull Apart Brains

Take a favorite potluck recipe and turn it into a Halloween snack. Instead of making a ring of pull apart bread, clump the pieces together to form a brain. Use refrigerated bread sticks and an onion with garlic or layered biscuits with butter and cinnamon sugar for a sweeter brain delicacy. Both recipes can be found in the resource section. Add a few drops of red food coloring to give it a pink tint.

    Brittle Bones

Appease everyone's sweet tooth with sweetened bones. These bones are a candy-like snack they can munch on the entire evening. Make the bones with egg whites, cream of tartar and sugar to form a delicious meringue snack. Seal these in air tight containers or baggies to prevent them from becoming soggy. Another bone snack is made by dipping pretzel sticks in white chocolate.

    Lab Mice

    • Dare each teenager to remove and eat a lab mouse, dangling from a line strung between a doorway and held in place with clothes pins. You won't have to twist their arms for this task. These mice are made by dipping maraschino cherries, including the stem, in white chocolate. While the chocolate is still warm stick the bottom of a white chocolate kiss on the bottom of the cherry and place two slivered almonds between them to form mouse ears.
