Florida is one of the most fun places to go on vacation.
I have been there twice - once on spring break in 1982 while attending college and once with my girlfriend in April, 2001.
I have visited Miami, Ft.
Lauderdale, Daytona, Orlando, and the Florida Keys.
The first time I went to Florida, I went to Miami and Ft.
Lauderdale with my sister for spring break.
We stayed with our great Aunt Millie and Uncle Fred in Miami.
I don't recall doing too much on that trip except sunbathing and going to a few local restaurants, but it was still lots of fun.
My second trip to Florida was by far the best.
My girlfriend and I first went on a 4-day cruise to the Bahamas from Orlando.
Then we spent a couple days in Orlando, visiting Walt Disney World, including the Epcot Center, which we loved.
We had an excellent Norwegian buffet in the countries of the world section and watched interesting films on Canada and France.
We enjoyed swimming in Florida quite a bit.
We spent a couple hours at Daytona Beach.
We walked along the beach and swam a bit.
The water was very warm and quite pleasant.
Our favorite place in Florida was Key West, where we stayed for three days.
We did a lot of walking around the island, by all the beautiful old homes.
We also toured Ernest Hemigway's house.
We loved the food in Florida.
We had plenty of exquisite seafood, including conch chowder, blackened fish, and oysters.
