How to Remove Stains From a Teapot
- 1). Fill your stained ceramic or glass teapot with boiling water. Cut a lemon in quarters. Squeeze the juice of one of the lemon quarters into the boiling water, then add the squeezed lemon wedge to the boiling water.
- 2). Stir in 1/8 cup of baking soda, then allow the teapot to sit overnight. If the stain hasn't been removed or if the stain is on the outside of your teapot, mix a small amount of lemon juice and baking soda into a paste about the consistency of toothpaste.
- 3). Dip a damp cloth into the paste and scrub the stain. Rinse thoroughly.
- 1). Measure 1 cup of baking soda into your stainless steel teapot, then fill the teapot with water. Place the teapot on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil.
- 2). Remove the pot from the burner and leave the hot water in the pot until the pot is hot, but cool enough to touch. Pour out most of the mixture and scrub the inside of the teapot with a brush or a dish scrubber.
- 3). Make a thicker paste of water and baking soda if the stain is still visible. Scrub the inside of the teapot with the baking soda paste. Use the same paste to clean any stains on the outside of your stainless steel teapot.
- 4). Wash the teapot with dish detergent and warm water. Rinse the pot thoroughly to remove all traces of baking soda or detergent.
