Ap Vin Winery Review - Why You Should Try Them

103 11
In the wine industry you often hear about winemakers taking on small projects and turning them into full cult wines with allocations only to mailing lists, with years to wait for even a chance to try one of the wines.
Andrew P.
Vingiello is not one of those winemakers, which makes his status as a true cult or as he likes to term it, artisan winemaker both fairly unique and unexpected.
Vingiello has a background (and former jobs) in finance and through a chance try of a California Pinot Noir decided to try the wine industry.
He received help along the way from the Loring Wine Company, but has slowly built an amazing reputation with his vintages which started in 2003.
With total production for their 2008 at approximately 1,200 cases it is possible to find A.
P.
Vin wine at local restaurants and some high end wine stores within the Bay Area of California, but even in Southern California finding a bottle on a store shelf is nearly impossible.
A.
P.
Vin has consistently scored it's Pinot Noir at 90 points or above, most often with pricing under $50 per bottle which is quite reasonable for a small production California winery.
Lastly an article about A.
P.
Vin would not be complete without mentioned that it is one of the very, very few wineries that bottles its wine in the city of San Francisco.
If you're looking for a little know, cult, good value (yes those can actually go together!) wine I can suggest giving A.
P.
Vin a try, especially if you are a fan of Pinot Noir as I am.
