How to Change the Oil in a Snapper Mower
- 1). Set the lawn mower on a hard, level surface and set the parking brake. Slide the jack under the front of the frame and raise 6 inches off the ground.
- 2). Locate the oil drain tube at the back of the engine; place the oil pan under the oil drain. If there is a metal plug, use the crescent wrench to remove by turning counterclockwise. If there is a plastic cap on the end of oil drain tube, push in and turn counterclockwise. Allow the oil to drain out of the engine completely.
- 3). Close the drain tube and wipe away any oil that spilled. Remove the dipstick from the top of the engine and insert the funnel into the oil fill tube. Pour 1-1/2 qts. of oil into the funnel, check the oil level, and keep adding oil until the dipstick reads "Full." Lower the mower back to the ground.
