Here's a look at the ten funniest celebrity memes of all time. Well, so far, anyway.
This awesome meme came about during Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show in 2012, when a series of ugly but totally funny still photos from her performance hit the web and immediately went viral. Despite the singer's publicist asking people to stop reposting the pics, web users had a field day Photoshopping "Unflattering Beyonce" into all kinds of different scenarios.More »
Between her known love of butter, and her diagnosis of "diabeetus," Paula Deen is no stranger to receiving the meme treatment, but by far the funniest of all of the Deen memes was taken from a Tumblr blog called, "Paula Deen Riding Things." The bloggers behind this concept took a funny image of Deen straddling a fellow celebrity chef during the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in February 2011, and proceeded to Photoshop Deen riding everything from hotdogs to other celebrities. Nicolas Cage is everywhere online, and he has been the subject of countless memes. By far the best, however, has to be taken from the single topic blog, Nic Cage As Everyone. The premise of this meme is simple: Take a photo of Nic Cage and Photoshop it onto pictures of everyone who has ever been photographed before, from Abe Lincoln to Gandalf from The Lord Of The Rings movies. Simple, but genius!More »
One of the 20 Top Memes of 2010, the Sad Keanu meme has staying power! Here we have a photo of actor Keanu Reeves looking typically dejected, sitting forlornly on a bench all by himself. Sensing a meme moment, a creative web user took the photo and started dropping the depressed-looking actor into various funny settings, creating a Tumblr blog called Sad Keanu in the process.
Also worth mentioning, there are now Happy Keanu and Conspiracy Keanu memes that are also very funny.More »
All it took was a photo of Queen Elizabeth II watching the Olympic Opening ceremonies in London with a scowl on Her Royal Face, and the memes started pouring in. "One Is Not Amused" was one of the best new memes of 2012, hands down.More »
While on the set of the 2010 movie Inception, someone snapped a photo of actor Leonardo DiCaprio walking happily towards the camera with a big smile on his face. Actor Ryan Gosling has been meme-ified many times since around 2008, but "Hey Girl" is definitely the best of the bunch. Meme-makers simply take a photo of the handsome Gosling and add some sensitive, loving remarks to all the girls of the world. Sigh. He's so dreamy....
Footnote: Gosling recently became the subject of a very funny series of Vine videos called "Ryan Gosling won't eat his cereal" that are definitely worth checking out!More »
If you've seen the TV show Man vs. Wild, you know that survivalist star Bear Grylls routinely advises his viewers to drink their own urine if they're ever lost in the wilderness. Grylls does this so frequently that a meme was born. Turns out, Grylls needs very little excuse to sip his own pee!More »
Actor Sean Connery is notoriously surly and misogynistic, so it makes sense that his meme would exhibit those same values. Between making fun of Connery's distinctive way of speaking (using "sh" instead of "s" sounds), building off the (fake) antagonistic relationship with Alex Trebek that was spoofed on Saturday Night Live, and threatening to take your mother to bed, this meme is just shocking, silly fun.
