London City is a single runway airport located on a former Docklands site in Newham in East London.
It is at its busiest during the winter months, when the rise in passenger numbers is largely caused by flights to various winter sports and ski resorts.
For details of destinations which can be reached check out our London City Airport flights section which provides information on airlines and holiday companies, where they fly to and their contact numbers.
The airport is small compared to the other four London ones, but this allows travellers to benefit from quick turnarounds, enabling passengers to check in as late as 15 minutes before take off.
Because the 2012 London Olympics will be held less than 30km away from London City Airport, plans are currently underway to redevelop it to cope with the increased passenger traffic.
