And who are you to judge
as you sit in your flat comfortable easy chair?
But as far as I can see
it does not resemble a throne
and no one ever proclaimed you
to be king
Besides is it any of your business anyway?
Narrowing the meaning of freedom
is only something that a simpleton
would do
And if you cannot identify with the behavior
perhaps it is better to keep it to yourself
The world is already filled with intolerance
and there is very little that you could add
Conflict can be destructive to the soul
so it might be in your interest to lighten up
and begin to love the people who are quite different
from yourself
Of course I am not asking for miracles
and it is certainly within your rights to act as you
see fit
But hatred is a dreaded disease my friend
It can consume your body and bring about
some of the most god awful effects
And please let me ask you this, just why does it bother you so?
Every society has a wide range of people
and it is only fear that prevents people from being
who they really are
Can you imagine what it would be like to have some thug
banging on your door at night?
Civil liberties is really what it is all about
Some people will always be different
and it is on this that you can always depend
And as it is written that such differences may exist
even at the point in which a person departs from the womb
the whys and wherefores
need not even begin to boggle your feted little mind
But if you should choose to delve into such matters
it is certainly up to you
but a thorough discussion of the significance of genetic factors on personal identity
may be far beyond the scope of this poem
Instead let's keep it basic
if you intend to act like a sagely prince I believe that you do so
at your own great peril
Be a man of the people for each of them are your very own
brothers and sisters
Lend a hand when you can
and if something strikes you as funny listen before you speak
The world will benefit from harmony
And there is no need to contribute to the discord
Just look around you and you will see what I mean
