As a consumer you have the option of obtaining a gasoline credit card from any of the gas stations in your area.
These credit cards are meant to help you save a little on each fuel purchase you make, but what are some of the rewards or benefits?How do the cards work?What is a list of gasoline credit cards you may want to choose from? First in the list of gasoline credit cards you have a choice of Citgo, Shell, Texaco, Tesco, Hess, BP, Flying J, and much more.
In fact the list of gasoline credit cards extends around the world in other countries besides the US.
This is because all gas stations either have their own credit card for gas purchases that they offer or you have a card like Discover or others that offer you cash back to use the card at the pump as a way to encourage the use of the card at all.
In the list of gasoline credit cards you have specific options for how the rewards will work.
Most of the credit cards like Discover, Capital One, or Texaco will offer you cash back.
You will use the card at the pump and receive anywhere from one percent to six percent cash back, but you must earn a total of cash back such as 20 dollars before it is released to you.
For example if you use the card at a gas station for 40 dollars a month you will receive 2 dollars cash back at 5%.
This will need to add up until you have at least 20 dollars in cash back bonuses before you can actually get the reward.
The reward can be applied to the credit card balance, a rebate, or towards a magazine or restaurant of your choice.
Other gasoline credit cards in the list will offer you a deduction at the pump.
For example the current price of gas is $2.

When you use your credit card at the pump that offers a deduction on the actual gas price you could save a penny up to ten cents depending on the card.
So in the list of gasoline credit cards if you find one with ten cents off you would be paying $2.
88 at the pump.
Now say you generally need 14 gallons worth of gas.
If you pay $2.
98 you will have a total of $41.
72 for that gas purchase.
If you are paying $2.
88 for 14 gallons you will pay $40.

The savings with the ten cents off is not a great deal, but over time it can be.
One reason to go with this type is the instant savings.
You may not have enough money to fill up the tank and need to get as much savings as possible.
On the other hand if you can get $2.
00 for every $40 you spend you are doing better in a year.
