Creating the Perfect Garage Floor

As experts in creating the perfect fitted garage we are often shocked by the condition that home owners across the UK leave their garage in.
The general problem is that most people leave the garage to become a cluttered and dusty mess where everything is out of place and all those tools, sports and gardening equipment can never be found.
The second biggest issue that we find is the condition of customer's floors.
Over years of neglect many garage floors can become damp, cracked and dusty, creating unstable and uncomfortable floors that can even create structural issue with the garage.
However, with new garage flooring solutions being introduced all the while there is no reason why every garage across the UK can't have a comfortable and hard wearing floor that creates a perfect finish within the garage.
Below are some of the different options that are available and how you gain the perfect solution for your lifestyle: - PVC Interlocking Floor Tiles: Interlocking PVC flooring tiles form a great thermal, noise and dust barrier, so are the prefect choice if you are using your garage as a multi-use room such as a garage gym or play room.
They are also extremely durable floor tile and so can cope with the every day wear and tear if you are looking to transform your garage into a home workshop.
Although not waterproof like the porcelain floor tileor the epoxy flooring, they are very easy to separate, wipe under and re-attach should you spill anything onto the floor - Aluminium Chequer Plate: Although this is not a particularly common finish for the garage floor, aluminium chequer plate flooring can be a great hi-tech looking solution if used correctly.
As it comes in sheets instead of flooring tiles it is fixed to a subfloor of marine plywood / sealed mdf or applied onto a self-leveling PVA adhesive.
As aluminium chequer plate flooring is made from a stronger and more durable flooring material it can look exceptionally good as a whole floor within a workshop or as a focal floor strip in the middle of the garage Epoxy Flooring: Epoxy resin floors are common in industrial environments but are also ideally suited for garages.
They provide a hard, durable coating to the floor and are available in a variety of colours and are very stylish.
If you are looking for an epoxy flooring for your garage its best to opt for one that contains a quartz bead - these add not only another dimension and style to your floor but also an anti-slip coating.
Porcelain Floor Tiles: Porcelain Floor Tiles are common in automotive workshops and showrooms as they are very hard wearing.
These high quality and contemporary tiles are normally used for professional automotive workshops.
However as porcelain tiles are available with raised patterns and have improved anti-slip properties over normal tiles when wet, they are an ideal flooring solution for home garages.
Though slightly more expensive than other options, porcelain floor tiles provide an extremely good investment as they last a long time and are easy to keep clean.
