Most Holy of Holidays

103 3
While Christmas is a time of joy and celebration to many, it is, in the same moment for others, a time of remembered years of yore when the lights seemed brighter, the heart lighter, the soul more enraptured and in-tune to the happiness of the spirit of the season.
At such times, it helps me to remember the Spirit of the season is our Creator.
If I feel a loss during the holiday...
If my heart does not soar in time with the beat of the festive parties and those gathered for such...
recalling that He is the Source will harken my soul to look inward--for the warmth of His presence...
the music that emanates from the voices of the angels as they sing of His love for us...
the silken breath upon my face that is the flutter of the angels' wing-beat against my cheek..
the whisper of His voice that bespeaks of His tender affection...
For e'en when I feel alone and lonely; afeared and uncertain; saddened and forgotten--I will recall--I am none of those things when He is with me.
So, as a candle's flame lends a golden glow to the shadows of the night, His Spirit warms my soul and illuminates my "empty places" and bespeaks the miracle of Grace and Hope, Love and Giving, that are the truest nature of this most Holy of holidays.
Merry Christmas! I began writing that after receiving an email from a friend who, I believe, was feeling lonely.
I wanted to write something that was comforting.
I hope it helped.
Turns out I also wrote words that helped me sort out some emotions I have been wrestling with.
