How to Get Burnt Wax off of a Wood Stove
- 1). Turn off the stove or extinguish the fire in the stove before starting the project. Place old newspaper under the wax stain to prevent hot wax from staining the floor before removal.
- 2). Heat the wax stains with a hair dryer for 30 seconds to one minute, depending on the thickness of the wax stain.
- 3). Wet a cotton cloth under warm water. Wipe away the wax residue thoroughly with the cloth.
- 4). Scrape away any stubborn wax left with a putty knife. Be careful not the scratch the stove surface.
