Gas Trimmer Safety
- Always use the correct string for the gas trimmer. If you use a heavier string than what the manufacturer suggests, you could damage the motor. If you have a blade trimmer, use the correct size blade.
- Before filling the gas tank, make sure the trimmer is turned off and the engine is cold. Store the gas trimmer and the gas in an outside building.
- Wear goggles, shoes and long pants when operating a gas trimmer.
- Avoid using the trimmer around little kids, pets and other adults. Flying debris can injure to bystanders up to 50 feet away. .
- Never take your eyes off the work area. Keep the trimmer away from any outdoor electrical wiring, which can cause shocks. Avoid using the trimmer around areas that have not been cleared of debris.
