    • 1). Plug in the Igia steamer on your bathroom countertop or vanity surface.

    • 2). Lift up the hatch at the top of the steamer and fill the reservoir three-quarters of the way with distilled water. Depending on the size of your steamer, you may use two to three cups of water.

    • 3). Saturate your bath towel with warm water. Wring it out thoroughly until it is only slightly damp.

    • 4). Add the blend of essential oils to the reservoir containing the water. Essential oil choices include chamomile, lemon grass and rose geranium. Add different oils that benefit your skin, if necessary (see the Resources section).

    • 5). Close the hatch to cover the reservoir and adjust the knob to a hot steam setting. Depending on how long you want to steam your face, the knob indicates how warm and intense the steam will be. For example, turn the knob to a mid-heat setting to enjoy a 10 to 15 minute-long steam facial.

    • 6). Drape the damp towel over your head, allowing it to frame your face. Hover over the steam spout of the facial steamer and pull the towel down to create a cover over you and the steam. This traps the steam in, allowing your face to absorb it.

    • 7). Turn the steamer to a cool setting to give your skin a blast of cool vapor after enjoying your facial steam session. The rush of cool, moist air allows your pores to shrink after being opened during the heat steam session. Do this for about two minutes and then unplug the steamer.
